Samaritan Mechanics

Our Mission

Good Samaritan Mechanics is a non-profit automotive repair organization founded by Levi Keilwitz in Fairbury, Nebraska. We are dedicated to providing veterans and families in need with essential automotive services to keep their vehicles roadworthy and reliable. Our mission stems from a calling to serve those who have served our country and to support community members facing financial hardship.

How We Serve

Good Samaritan Mechanics operates as a non-profit automotive shop with a unique approach to community service. We provide high-quality mechanical work for low-income families while partnering with local automotive businesses to ensure the broader community continues to thrive economically.

Our Community Partnership Model

We collaborate with established local shops to ensure our charitable work complements rather than competes with existing businesses. This approach allows traditional shops to maintain profitability while we focus specifically on serving those most in need.

Get Involved

Good Samaritan Mechanics relies on community support to fulfill our mission. Whether through donations, volunteer work, or simply spreading awareness about our services, every contribution helps us serve more veterans and families in need.

Our Founder's Story

Levi Keilwitz established Good Samaritan Mechanics after feeling called to help military veterans and low-income families who often struggle with vehicle maintenance costs. A graduate of Central Community College in Hastings with a degree in Automotive Technology, Levi brings both professional expertise and personal commitment to this mission.

During his college years, Levi served in the Army National Guard as a Wheeled Vehicle Mechanic (91B), giving him a firsthand understanding of the challenges veterans face when transitioning to civilian life. After graduation, he worked as an automotive technician for nearly five years before attempting to start his own commercial shop. When that venture didn't succeed as planned, Levi returned to full-time employment but never lost sight of his desire to serve his community and fellow veterans.
